Zanzou nightclub “silent” owners allegedly fled the country amid torture scandal investigation.

Two key figures, believed to be financial backers allegedly skipped the country, raising a lot of questions regarding their possible involvement in the incident.

The scandal surrounding the club erupted after a video of bouncers assaulting and sexually harassing customers who couldn’t cover their bill started circulating the internet.

Reportedly, a 41-year old Congolese man, one of the eight suspects who appeared on the video, was arrested last Friday and is facing 14 charges. The police are currently searching for the other seven suspects.

The suspect made his first court appearance at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday. The case was postponed to the 3rd of March citing further investigations.

Zanzou Bar and Lounge is currently closed down due to non-compliance.

During the court appearance, the media was not present. Lumka Mahajana, National Prosecutors Authority, stated that the media could not be present because they are still working on identifying the other suspects.

We have conducted some of the identity parade but we are still missing other victims who still need to identify the accused.

So long, investigation is ongoing and the police are working tirelessly to find the remaining suspects.
