Letsile Tebogo will continue in his pursuit of 100m success in the Wanda Diamond League when he travels to Shanghai/Keqiao for the second event of the season on 3 May 2025.

The Botswanan athlete has placed himself well as one of the leading figures in men’s sprinting in 2024, bagging the Olympic title in the 200m and securing five Diamond League wins between July and September.

After closely missing the Diamond League title at last year’s finale in Brussels, Tebogo aims to secure his first Diamond Trophy in 2025 before putting his efforts towards the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September.

This year’s season will also mark a change in emphasis for the 21-year-old, who declared after his Diamond League victory in Rome last August that he would focus on the 100m in 2025.

Already selected to compete in the 100m during the season opener in Xiamen on April 26, the Botswanan will travel to Keqiao a week later to achieve a Chinese double as he seeks to accumulate early points on the Road to the Final.

Tebogo is among several athletic superstars already confirmed for Shanghai/Keqiao, which includes high jump world record holder and Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh and 400m hurdles world record holder Karsten Warholm.

I’m excited for my first-ever race at the Shanghai/Keqiao Diamond League! I can’t wait to bring some extra energy to an already fantastic field.
