The South African entertainment industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor Sello Motloung, who passed away on September 15. A statement released by his family confirmed the sad news.
“We’re devastated to inform you of the sudden passing of Ntate Sello Motloung on Sunday, 15 September. His family is in shock, and we ask that you give them space at this time. For any enquiries, please contact Artist Connection. Sello will forever be remembered as one of our legends, and we will miss him tremendously.” Actors Spaces wrote.

The 53-year-old actor, presenter, and MC was best known for his roles on TV shows such as Backstage, Mamello, and Ring of Lies, He took to the international stage for roles in films such as Invictus, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, and Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema.In 1998, Motloung was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Award at the M-Net All-Africa Film Award for his role in Chikin Biznis.
He also appeared in the fifth season of the SABC1 education drama series Soul City.
Apart from cinema and television, he also produced several theatre productions including Street Cleaners, and The Awakening.
