The World Economic Forum (WEF) has officially started in Davos, Switzerland. From January 20 to 24, 2025, over 2,500 global leaders from government, business, and civil society are gathering to tackle important global issues under the theme, “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age.”
This year, South Africa is making a bold statement, with President Cyril Ramaphosa personally leading the country’s delegation for the first time in years. The team, mainly composed of government and business leaders, intend to highlight South Africa’s presidency of the G20. They will focus on innovation and inclusion as solutions to the country’s economic and social challenges.

The delegation’s goal is to position South Africa as an attractive destination for investment while showcasing fresh ideas and encouraging global partnerships. By doing so, they hope to boost economic growth and improve the lives of South Africans.
Meanwhile, other key global voices, such as Arnold Puech d’Alissac, President of the World Farmers’ Organisation, will also attend the WEF. He plans to advocate for farmers’ interests through high-level discussions and meetings, contributing to solutions that benefit people, prosperity, and the
planet.
