The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) together with MEC for Social Development, Florence Radzilani gave back to school children in need, in Limpopo yesterday, 12 March 2025.

This initiative is part of the SASSA school uniform distribution programme. SASSA says that this cause  is dedicated to supporting and uplifting the community by ensuring that every child has the necessary resources to thrive in their education.

SASSA distributed a total of 207 uniforms: 50 to learners from Dipuwe Primary School, 50 to learners from Mampha Primary School, and 107 to learners from Mamothalo Primary School. These schools are located within the Capricorn District of Limpopo.

Moreover, other organisations were inspired and contributed to the good cause, namely the Mankoko Foundation. In support and appreciation of SASSA’s initiative, the foundation donated 40 more school bags and toilets, including sanitary supplies.

“SASSA in Capricorn region has set aside an amount of R9603,000 for the 2024/25 financial year to cater 1746 deserving learners. This is to ensure that no learner drops out of school because the parents cannot afford to buy them uniform,” said Tebogo Tshipi, Spokesperson for SASSA Limpopo Region.

Community members, local councillors, and parents of beneficiaries were also in attendance to show their appreciation for the impactful work of SASSA and the Mankoko Foundation.
