Rachel Kolisi has stepped down from her role as CEO of the Kolisi Foundation, ending her leadership at the charity she co-founded with her estranged husband, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi. This decision follows the announcement of their divorce last October.
Founded in 2019 to address critical societal issues such as gender-based violence (GBV), education, and food security, the Kolisi Foundation has been a prominent advocate for social change. Rachel announced her resignation on February 28, 2025, and the news was met with widespread support and recognition from the community, particularly from organizations dedicated to GBV issues.
The Justice Desk, a leading anti-GBV NGO, honored Rachel’s contributions on Instagram. They shared photos from a surprise farewell organized by fellow GBV organizations, expressing gratitude for her unwavering support. While they were saddened by her resignation, they were confident she would continue to inspire and advocate for change, stating, “Rachel, you will always be a GBV activist at heart.
