Former National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s corruption case has been postponed to December 5, 2024, at the High Court in Pretoria.
Mapisa-Nqakula, who served as Speaker of Parliament, faces charges of corruption and money laundering. She briefly appeared in Pretoria Magistrate’s Court earlier this year, where the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed that the Investigating Directorate (ID) had provided her with a full disclosure of the docket .
As part of her bail conditions, Mapisa-Nqakula was ordered to avoid any direct or indirect contact with state witnesses. The NPA also provided her with a list of state witnesses on April 8, 2024.
The case’s postponement has sparked interest, with many awaiting the outcome. For now, the wait continues until December 5, 2024, when the case will resume at the High Court in Pretoria.
