In a recent statement, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, strongly refuted any connection to corrupt activities during her tenure as the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans.
The allegations, which were first reported by the Sunday Times, included claims made in an affidavit by a former service provider of the department. The Speaker confirmed that she was unaware of the allegations until they were brought to her attention through the press.
Ms Mapisa-Nqakula denied any involvement in the alleged corrupt activities and emphasized that she has always upheld the principles of integrity and transparency throughout her political career.
