National Assembly Holds Urgent Debate on SANDF Deaths in DRC

The National Assembly will have an urgent debate today on the deaths of 14 SANDF members in the DRC.

This special sitting has been called as a matter of importance.

The debate will surround the recent casualties incurred by the SANDF in the DRC, and their implications for the defence force.

All members of President Ramaphosa’s executive have been requested to attend the debate.

Ramaphosa has also directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast until this Friday, February 14.

The soldiers were deployed to the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo as part of a peacekeeping mission in defense of the Congolese people.
