On Tuesday, the (MKP) uMkhonto WeSizwe Party called for the immediate suspension of Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni. This follows allegations of tender corruption during her time as the Municipal Manager of Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality.
According to the MK Party, the Hawks investigated a R2,5 million tender scandal, and the case has been handed over to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for prosecution.

Despite existing accusations, Ntshavheni remains in her role overseeing critical portfolios including state intelligence. The party argues that her continued presence undermines the integrity of the Presidency and may jeopardise ongoing law enforcement efforts.
In a media statement released by the MK Party, they accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of shielding close allies like Ntshavheni while selectively holding others accountable. They labeled her position as “untenable and dangerous ” , and criticised Ramaphosa’s renewal agenda as hypocritical and politically driven.

Citing findings by the Auditor-General and a High Court ruling that condemned the Ba-Phalaborwa tender process as “repugnant and devastating,” the MK Party said that Ntshavheni is unfit for any executive position and should be suspended pending court proceedings.
This administration must prioritise integrity and accountability over political expediency. South Africa deserves leadership that serves the people, not self-serving interests.
Critics of the government have urged Ramaphosa to demonstrate his commitment to clean governance by acting decisively against implicated officials.
