Fikile Mbalula, Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC), has praised the late Public Enterprise Minister Pravin Gordhan as a champion of good governance. Speaking at Gordhan’s funeral service at the Durban International Convention Centre, Mbalula highlighted Gordhan’s unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability.

Gordhan, a respected ANC stalwart, will be cremated in a private ceremony later today. The funeral service attended by prominent figures, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, Chief Justice Mandisa Maya, former Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, and several ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) members.

Mbalula emphasized that attempts to undermine Gordhan’s credibility would not succeed, as those responsible were, in fact, beneficiaries of state capture.
