A 27-year-old man who survived a deadly shooting in Mamelodi that claimed the lives of his two cousins has revealed he was allegedly shot in his private parts by the suspected gunman, Tebogo Mnisi.
Desmond Senong told Eyewitness News (EWN) exclusively that only divine intervention spared his life during the attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Senong had spent Saturday night with cousins Tshiamo and Baleseng Moramaga at Small Konka Shisanyama in Mamelodi East. He shared video footage with EWN showing the trio dancing together just hours before the tragedy unfolded.
The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument involving Mnisi, said to be the boyfriend of one of the women. Around 2:30 am, as the group walked through the streets of Mamelodi, Mnisi allegedly drove up and opened fire.
Tshiamo and Baleseng Moramaga were killed instantly. Senong, despite being shot in his genital area, managed to flee the scene, leaping through neighbouring yards until he reached safety.Neighbours rushed the critically injured man to hospital, where doctors informed him the bullet had destroyed one of his testicles.
“The doctor told me I’ve lost one testicle, so I may not be able to have any more children or I may struggle,”
Tebogo Mnisi was arrested shortly after the incident and appeared in the Mamelodi Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. He faces five charges, including two counts of murder, attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
