President Donald Trump has officially been sworn in as the president of the United States today in Washington, D.C. for his second term as the president of America.

The inauguration took place inside the US Capitol Rotunda due to unfavourable weather conditions projected in the nation’s capital.

In his pre-inauguration speech he said one of his first priorities was to bring back TikTok. The app returned 12 hours after being banned. Users received messages reading, “Thanks for your patience and support. As a result of President Trump’s efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S.!”

Trump vowed to revoke “every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration” within hours of assuming the presidency.

He defeated Kamala Harris in November’s election, four years after he lost to Joe Biden. Trump served as president from 2017-2021.

In his inaugural speech, he announced plans to sign a “series of executive orders” targeting immigration and the economy. Trump stated he would declare a “national emergency at the southern border,” which would stop immigration and lead to the deportation of “criminal immigrants.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended congratulations to Trump before his inauguration and expressed his willingness to engage in discussions about the Ukraine conflict, hoping that any resolution would lead to “lasting peace.”
