In a significant development, the South African Police Service (SAPS) has announced the arrest of three more suspects in connection with the Lusikisiki massacre, which claimed the lives of 18 people. The latest arrests bring the total number of suspects in custody to four.
According to SAPS, the trio was traced to Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal early this morning. A multidisciplinary team of investigators and tactical units worked tirelessly to track down the suspects.
One suspect remains at large, and police are urging the public to report any information that may lead to their capture.
“The SAPS is committed to ensuring justice for the victims and their families,” said Police Minister Senzo Mchunu. “We will leave no stone unturned in pursuing those responsible.”
The Lusikisiki massacre, which occurred in the Eastern Cape, sent shockwaves throughout the nation. Authorities have pledged to bring all perpetrators to justice.
