A 46-year-old police officer in Limpopo has been taken into custody on allegations of insurance fraud and murder. Investigators claim she illicitly profited from funeral, accidental, and life insurance policies held with multiple banks and insurance companies.
Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, national police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest of an on-duty sergeant for allegedly exploiting life, accidental, and funeral insurance policies from multiple financial institutions for personal gain
“According to investigations, she (allegedly) started her killing spree in 2019.“Her victims were known to her and were from destitute and disadvantaged background and some were disabled or mentally challenged.”
