KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Education, Sipho Hlomuka visited Riverbend Primary School as part of the School Functionality Monitoring programme on Tuesday, 28 January 2025.
Hlomuka came to the school after he was made aware of the issues faced by the school, issues such as network and additional infrastructure, as the multigrade school currently has only two classrooms, one of which also serves as the principal’s office.
Hlomuka pledged a mobile classroom equipped with electricity and is working with Vodacom to improve connectivity for the school and the community.
He also ensured that all learners received school shoes.
I promise to buy them full school uniforms.
The school visit underscores the MEC’s dedication to ensuring that every child has access to quality education, regardless of their circumstances.
