King Misuzulu Set to Marry Third Bride, Queen Nomzamo Myeni, in Customary Rite

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini is scheduled to formalize his union with Queen Nomzamo Myeni through a traditional Zulu wedding, called umgcagco, at the KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma on Sunday, November 9.

The much-awaited event was originally planned for January but was rescheduled after the monarch observed a time of isolation for nationwide prayers and the annual first-fruits ritual. The postponement fueled rumors regarding the pair’s bond, especially since Queen Nomzamo did not appear at several of the king’s recent public appearances.

With this marriage, Queen Nomzamo will be the king’s third spouse, coming after the recent designation of Princess Sihle Mdluli as Queen Consort—an appointment that bolsters connections between the Zulu and Ndwandwe royal houses.

Next weekend, the KwaKhangelamankengane Palace is expected to host thousands of attendees and notable figures for this landmark observance of heritage and alliance.
