The Johannesburg High Court has rejected the MK Party’s bid to halt the Judicial Service Commission’s (JSC) interviews, paving the way for the proceedings to continue without Dr. John Hlophe.
The court’s decision comes despite the MK Party’s efforts to interdict the interviews, which are scheduled to commence next week. This development follows a similar ruling by the Western Cape High Court, which temporarily barred Hlophe from participating in the JSC interviews.
Chief Justice Mandisa Maya has opted to proceed with the interviews, citing that Hlophe’s absence does not compromise the legitimacy of the JSC’s proceedings.
The JSC interviews will proceed as planned, focusing on selecting suitable candidates for judicial appointments.
