In a scathing statement made during the Democratic Alliance’s Manifesto launch at the Union Buildings , Leader John Steenhuisen stated, “The truth is that the ANC was already on its knees before Jacob Zuma’s MK Party entered the fray, and as we speak here today, MK is devouring millions of ANC votes.” He directly attributed the ANC’s decline to Zuma’s influence and the rise of his new political party, MK.
Steenhuisen further pointed to current President Cyril Ramaphosa for the ANC’s demise. He accused Ramaphosa of freeing 15,000 criminals solely to prevent Zuma from facing jail time.
The DA leader did not mince his words when discussing the state of South Africa’s ruling party. He painted a grim picture of an ANC in tatters, its support being slowly eroded by Zuma’s new political venture. Steenhuisen emphasized the need for a change in leadership and policy, pointing to the DA as the alternative option for voters seeking a fresh start.
Steenhuisen’s remarks come as South Africa prepares for upcoming local government elections
