California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) reported that within hours the fire had covered over 41 square kilometers.
This fire is reported to be two-thirds bigger than the Eaton fire.
The fire broke out while the other two major fires, Palisade and Eaton fire, are still burning in the metropolitan areas.
On Wednesday, Fire officials reported that the Eaton fire is over 91% contained while the Palisade fire is 63% contained.

In an interview with Fox News on Wednesday night, President Donald Trump threatened to withhold federal disaster funds from California as he blamed the state’s fish conservation efforts in its north for water shortages that have hampered the firefighting efforts.
I don’t think we should give California anything until they let water flow down.
The battle against the fire continues. The Cal Fire stated that over 1 100 firefighters had been “strategically pre-positioned” across Southern California to address the “ongoing critical fire weather.”
Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said more than 4,000 firefighters are battling the Hughes Fire.
