Johannesburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda believes the judiciary has acted in the best interests of both residents and the institution. The High Court in Johannesburg today* dismissed the DA’s urgent motion to have City Manager Floyd Brink’s reappointment declared unlawful and unconstitutional. The same court ruled Brink’s appointment unconstitutional in November of last year.
He was reappointed with an ANC/EFF/PA majority. The City opposed the DA’s most recent application, arguing that the subject should be removed from the roster since it is not urgent. Mayor Gwamanda believes the DA’s proposal was an attempt to disrupt the management of the City of Johannesburg.
