Journalist Sbusiso Aserie Ndlovu and his spouse, Zodwa Precious Mdhluli, have been missing since 18 February 2025. Ndlovu, the founder of CapitalLive SA FM in Mamelodi, Pretoria, was last seen leaving work around 6 p.m. that evening. Meanwhile, Mdhluli disappeared under unclear circumstances in Mpumalanga. Their sudden disappearance has raised concerns among their families, friends, and the media.

Authorities have confirmed that Ndlovu was reported missing in Mamelodi after failing to return home, while Mdhluli’s family has also filed a missing person’s report in Mpumalanga. The police have launched an investigation, with Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo stating that efforts are underway to locate the couple.

“We are actively investigating the case and following up on all possible leads. Anyone with information is urged to come forward to assist in locating the couple,” Masondo reported.

Currently, there are no confirmed connections explaining their disappearance, but investigators are considering various factors, including any potential dangers Ndlovu may have encountered in his media career. Some speculate that his journalistic work could have influenced their situation, while others think their disappearance may not be linked to his profession. Authorities are keeping all possibilities open and are continuing to review the evidence.

Police have provided a contact number for tips and are encouraging citizens to report any suspicious activity. As the search for the missing couple continues, teams have been deployed to key areas. Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo emphasised the importance of public assistance in supporting the investigation.

“We have dedicated offices working on this case, reviewing surveillance footage and speaking to possible witnesses. However, we need assistance from the community to provide any useful information that might help in tracing them,” he explained.

Family spokesperson Vusi Mahlasela addressed the media in Pretoria on 2 March, urging the public to unite in support of the search for Ndlovu and Mdhluli.

“We are deeply worried about Aserie and Zodwa. It has been weeks without any word from them, and this uncertainty is unbearable. Repeat with anyone who has information to come forward. We are also calling on the Department of Arts and Culture, churches, and community leaders to join us in this difficult time,” stated Mahlasela.

The public is encouraged to stay alert and report any information that could assist in the search. Various stakeholders, including media outlets and community organisations, have expressed solidarity in hopes of the couple’s safe return.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact Sergeant Lekganyane at 082 768 6433 or to speak with their nearest police station. The families and friends of the missing couple continue to hold out hope and pray for their safe return.
