
The Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies ,Mondli Gungubele together with Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi ,will lead the engagement on gender-based violence (GBV) during the 365 Days Against Gender-Based Violence Men’s Dialogue. The event will be held on Friday, 31 January 2025, at Sol Tsotetsi Hall in Sebokeng, Emfuleni Local Municipality.
The dialogue is part of the ongoing 365 Days Campaign, an extension of the annual 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children. The event aims to sustain awareness and action throughout the year to address the ongoing challenge of GBV in South Africa.
The DCDT highlights the role of technology in the prevention and response to GBV, enhancing the implementation of the National Strategic Plan (NSP) on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). The campaign also focuses on engaging men and boys in fighting against violence and sexual abuse.
Deputy Minister Gungubele, Premier Lesufi , and various stakeholders, including non-profit organisations, Siyafunda CTC, and the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA) , will engage with men of Sedibeng , and seek solutions to the crisis.
