Bantu Holomisa, the leader of the United Democratic Movement (UDM), announced today at a media conference in Pretoria that the CEO of Thuja, Mthunzi Mdwaba, would be joining the party. Mdwaba’s addition to the UDM comes just days before the party’s highly anticipated election manifesto launch, scheduled to take place on the 2nd of March at the prestigious Gallagher Conference Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.
During the media conference, Holomisa expressed his pleasure in welcoming Mdwaba to the UDM, highlighting his extensive experience in the corporate world and commitment to advocating for economic empowerment and equality.
In his statement during the UDM welcoming event, Mthunzi Mdwaba expressed his reasons for joining the party and his strong stance against the ANC. “Why the @UDmRevolution, the UDM has for 25 years stood on the right side of history. It has fought corruption, and if you’re looking for ethical conduct, this is the way to go,” said Mdwaba.
Having previously been a member of the ANC, Mdwaba made it clear that his decision to join the UDM symbolically marked his departure from the ruling party and his complete disassociation from it. “I come from the ANC, so today I’m actually symbolically leaving the ANC and will never have anything to do with the ANC,” he stated firmly.
