KwaZulu-Natal ANC members and supporters made their way to KwaCaluza Sports Complex in the Umsunduzi Sub-Region, Moses Mabhida Region, for the party’s 113th-anniversary celebrations on Sunday. The provincial rally follows a similar national event held in the Western Cape a few weeks ago.
ANC members were in high spirits as they eagerly awaited the January 8 Statement Celebrations.
ANC KZN Provincial Chairperson, Siboniso Duma officially introduced 1st Deputy Secretary-General Nomvula Mokonyane, as part of the proceedings. Addressing the crowd, Duma emphasized the unwavering support the party continues to receive, stating:
The ANC is loved by the people. Those who were lost … are coming back to the ANC. People have hope in the ANC.
Acknowledging the challenges faced in previous national and provincial elections, he assured members that the party is firmly on a path of renewal.
“Despite the challenges we have experienced, it is important for us to reassure our members that the ANC is committed to renewal and rebuilding,” he said.
Earlier during the day, the ANC leadership hosted a Media Breakfast at Redlands Hotel, allowing members of the press to engage with national, provincial, and regional leaders. The session provided insights into the party’s strategies for unity, governance, and service delivery.
As the celebrations proceeded at KwaCaluza Sports Complex, the large turnout reflects the ANC’s continued presence and influence in KwaZulu-Natal. With a renewed focus on rebuilding and addressing past setbacks, today’s rally marks a crucial step in the party’s efforts to strengthen its position ahead of upcoming political challenges.
