KWAZULU-NATAL FAMILY TRAGEDY: FIVE KILLED, TWO INJURED IN ALLEGED DOMESTIC ATTACK
gruesome incident has shaken the Bergville community in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, after a 33-year-old man allegedly stabbed and killed five relatives, including two young children, and injured two others.
According to police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda, the suspect’s rampage targeted his own family members, resulting in the deaths of:
- A two-year-old girl
- A six-year-old girl
- A woman living with a disability
- An elderly woman visiting the household
The suspect’s mother and a four-year-old girl survived with severe stab wounds. Another sister escaped with her one-year-old baby.
Preliminary investigations revealed the suspect had a history of domestic violence, with multiple cases opened against him, all of which were voluntarily withdrawn.
ARREST AND CHARGES
Following a successful operation led by the Bergville station commander, the suspect was apprehended and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
