Police Minister Senzo Mchunu announced today that three individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the devastating Lusikisiki massacre, which claimed the lives of 18 people on September 28, 2024, The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Minister Mchunu also revealed that authorities are closing in on a fourth suspect, whose name and surname are already known to the police. This development comes as a significant breakthrough in the investigation said Mchunu
Lusikisiki Massacre
The Lusikisiki massacre sent shockwaves across South Africa, with President Cyril Ramaphosa condemning the killings. The incident occurred outside two houses in Nyathi village, where gunmen opened fire on a family gathering, leaving 15 women and three men dead, and five others injured.
