Minister Bheki Cele announced there will be an additional 10,000 boots on the ground to clamp down on criminals. he was addressing members of the media in Pretoria where he touched on a number of issues. He says the newly appointed officers will be deployed in crime hotspots across all nine provinces.
Ten thousand new police officers have been added to the police force to bolster its festive season safety campaign.
The new recruits will be boots on the ground nationally from the 15th of December.

With only a few days till Christmas and a period synonymous with festivities and increased migration both internally and beyond borders, authorities have been working hard to guarantee law and order will be upheld, with one of the activities being greater manpower and visibility.
